  • The Armor of God

By Priscilla Shirer  ·  Release Year: 2015
Why I chose it:  Not only is this a great study guide that goes in depth into Ephesians, but Shirer also has beautifully made video series to study along with as well on Lifeway Women.  The book is broken down into 6 weeks of study (five days in each week) with a bonus seventh week. The book is also a workbook!  So be prepared of write in and personalize your book! I enjoyed learning in depth on how to protect myself with the full armor of God and how this is vital to have on everyday!  My oldest daughter and I even made up a cute song and dance to memorize the full armor! If you promise not to tell her you can see it here! Read More
  • Everyday Obedience

by Katie Orr ·  Release Year: 2017
Why I chose it: This is an excellent book for Bible study!  It is broken up into 4 weeks (five days in each week) of studying. Orr integrates real life events, her personal stories and of course biblical examples of how obedience to God leads freedom.  I love this book because even if you’re pressed for time, you can still squeeze a jam packed study into 15 minutes!  It’s wonderful of course if you set aside dedicated time in the mornings or evenings, but again, if you only have a 15 minute break? You can still be filled with the word of God! I highly recommend for group studies as well. Read More

  • Pigs in the Parlor: The Practical Guide to Deliverance

By Frank Hammond, Ida Mae Hammond  ·  Release Year: 1990
Why I chose it: It always amazes me (even though it shouldn’t) how vital information, things all followers of Jesus Christ of Nazareth should know, is some how hidden or not shared nearly enough. This book is no exception to that.  This book details how demons gather and enter, how to determine if deliverance is needed and accomplished in ones self or others and most importantly how to retain deliverance.  Follower’s of Christ should have this knowledge and be able to help others at any given moment. This practical guide is an instrumental ‘must have’. Read More
  • A Divine Revelation of Hell

by Mary K. Baxter ·  Release Year: 1993
Why I chose it: I remember grabbing this book as a child and NOT being able to put it down. One of my sister’s had sent it to our dad long with audio cassettes to listen along to. While dad listened to the cassettes, I grabbed the book and read it obsessively (except at night) daily, taking it everywhere I went until I finished it.  It intrigued me because it meant that I wasn’t “crazy” or just had a “bad dream”.  This book solidified I had experienced what I said I did. That this place called “hell” wasn’t a figment of my imagination and did exist. In 1976, Baxter goes into detail about how her spirit was taking from her body for 40 nights and allowed to visit hell. May sound super Sci-Fi to non-believers or those that haven’t experienced supernatural events. But, I encourage everyone to try reading this book, if for nothing else but to gain a different perspective. Read More

  • The Names of God, Living the Word Series

By Ken Hemphill  ·  Release Year: 2015
Why I chose it: Often, we never “really’ think about the name of God and His various titles.  I enjoyed navigating through this book with direct reference to the Bible. It was powerful to learn that every name has a meaning. Discovering more of God’s character by His many names was truly edifying. Read More
